A team from work recently went out to Hammanskraal to see the work the regional team is doing there. Part of the days activities included playing soccer against a bunch of grannies / gogo's who are a big part of the work the organisation I work for do in this area.
We only played 20 minutes against them, but it was quite exhausting. These practice every week, are very strict about the rules. And one feels bad defending a lovely old granny in soccer gear and loafers - that is until they aggressively defend back.
After our friendly match we chatted to them a bit and many of them got dressed to go back home. My favourite was this gogo who put this really lovely red shwe shwe dress over her soccer kit, with socks and soccer boots popping out the bottom.
