One of my favourite items for gifting at the end of last year was an apron from a Women's empwoerment sewing project called Ginger Cat.
They had a range of applique aprons but this one had my two favourite things on it - Shwe shwe and tea cups.
I liked it so much I bought one as a gift to myself, one for my mom , my sister-in-law and a good friend.
I love that the intricate patterns of the blue shwe shwe look like spode, or other blue and white traditioanl patterns ceramics. The detail on these cups is also equisite.
Ginger Cat don't have a website yet, but you can reach them on their email contact for now.

Oh, the teacups are lovely! You're right - they DO look like the traditional china - which I love on its own as well.

Hi there, have loved your blog over many months. I'm a UK basketmaker with 1960's childhood links to the Eastern Cape and a craft background. I've an interest in researching the 'blaudruck' roots of shweshwe and the vibrant use of the fabric in SA in it's present form and in the projects/people who are using it. I'd love to talk to you - any chance of a reply. I'll be in SA in Feb.
