On a Brixton Walkabout this weekend early in the morning I saw a lady wearing a dress with gorgeous detail, including the multi cotton colour stitching that I have seen quite a bit of recently and absolutely love.
I forgot to ask her for her name as we were power pacing on our way to photograph other things in the community, but did garner that she worked outside the house where I saw her, so I can drop a copy of the picture off at her house. Will ask her name when I take the photo
Tomorrow I start a digital photography course and have also upgraded our home printer so that I can now print pictures at home. This means I can get pictures to ladies I photograph much quicker, because normally I store pictures in a 'to print' folder on my desktop and then after a month or two copy the folder and take it to the photo shop.
I am also hoping that with the photo course I might be able to take more interesting pictures of ladies in their shwe shwe dresses and have come up with some questions that I want to ask them to get more info on their dresses. I hope to compile a better file of pictures and info on what occasions they dresses were originally made for, if they have any significance, what the ladies like about their dresses /skirts etc.
